February 2012 Volunteer Recruitment Month

Teach My People has turned February into Volunteer Recruitment Month! We are looking for NEW volunteers to help out in our classrooms, and to work with students one on one to help them with their homework. We are also looking for people to help serve dinner to our kids as well as working in the front office to answer the phone and greet people as they come in.


Do you ever wonder when you drive down Waverly Road “what goes on in the Teach My People facility?” This month you can find out! We are opening our doors on three different dates this month for a Community Open House. This will take place on the following days: Wednesday, February 8th; Wednesday, February 22nd; Thursday, February 23rd. Stop by on those days between 2:30pm and 5:00pm and observe our program, take a tour of the facility, and learn more about what we do!
 

If you aren’t able to make any of the Community Open House dates and you’re still interested in learning about our program, we encourage you to drop in any time during the week between 9:00am and 5:00pm to check out the facility. We are not open on weekends.
 

Monday, February 13th-Thursday, February 16th is “Bring a Friend to Volunteer” week and we hope to see a lot of new faces throughout that week! If you know somebody that currently volunteers with us and you would like to tag along during that week, feel free to do so!
 

Teach My People follows the Georgetown School District Calendar so we will be closed Friday, February 17th as well as Monday, February 20th.


We will be finishing up Volunteer Recruitment Month with a Volunteer Appreciation Breakfast for our current volunteers as well as all the new volunteers we recruit in February. We will follow up the breakfast with a Volunteer Orientation for all of our new volunteers!
